FIGHT THE TAX

Save our farms

The budget has dealt a devastating blow to many family farms and the Countryside Alliance is giving you the opportunity to support the hundreds of farmers who are lobbying their MPs directly. Scrapping inheritance tax relief on farmland and taxing twin cab pickups are just two of the many measures that will hit farmers hard. Whether you live in the city, town or country it is crucial that your MP understands the enormous impact these changes could have on the countryside.

Stop the farm tax

Take action now

Our countryside is more than just landscapes. It contributes hugely towards the nation’s food supply, economy and well-being, but the budget proposals threaten the very fabric of rural life by putting family farms and hardworking communities at risk.

Scrapping the Agricultural Property Relief could deal a devastating blow to family farms. Without immediate action, these policies could cause irreparable harm to the countryside. Join us in urging the Chancellor to reconsider these policies.

Protect the countryside, protect Britain’s future.

NFU Scotland rally

On Thursday 28 November, NFU Scotland organised a rally to send a clear message to the Scottish Parliament and Government about the importance of securing the future of farming through increasing funding for Scottish agriculture.

This came on the back of the rally in Westminster in which we saw over 10,000 farmers come together in their opposition to the scrapping of APR.

The general election this year is critical. It has been reported that ‘strengthening’ the Hunting Act, banning grouse shooting, restricting game farming, increasing the regulation of gun ownership, and creating a ‘right to roam’ will all be on the political agenda. Please donate and help us defend our way of life.
