Countryside Alliance and associated brands is a trading name of The Countryside Alliance Foundation, a registered charity in England and Wales (Charity No. 1121034). This website, associated pages, and the services provided by the Countryside Alliance are subject to the following Terms of Use. The Countryside Alliance reserves the right to modify these terms at any time without prior notice. By continuing to use the website and services after any changes, you agree to be bound by the updated terms.

Membership Transition

Effective from 1st September 2024, Countryside Alliance membership has transitioned to become a member of Countryside Alliance Foundation. All members of Countryside Alliance have been transferred to Countryside Alliance Foundation, and all covers of insurance and other membership benefits have been transferred over.

Joining the Countryside Alliance Foundation
  • Online: You become a member as soon as you see the confirmation screen, assuming all the details you have given us are correct and we are able to take payment from your bank account. Please print this page for your records.
  • By phone, post, or face-to-face: You become a member as soon as we receive your application details, assuming all the details you have given us are correct and we are able to take payment from your bank account.

We reserve the right not to accept or process your membership request for any reason. All orders are subject to validation checks and authorisation by your bank or credit/debit card issuer.

Membership Categories

For all membership categories, your membership and insurance are only active if we have received valid payment details from you and the personal details you provide us, including your date of birth, are correct. If you have joined online, many communications will be sent via electronic means where possible. Please ensure you keep us notified of any changes to your email address and contact details.

Members (including Groups) resident outside of the UK, Northern Ireland & The Channel Islands

Members (including Groups) resident outside of the UK, Northern Ireland & The Channel Islands are only covered while participating in Recognised Activities in the UK.

Field Sports Employee Membership
Your eligibility for this membership category is dependent on your status as a field sports employee. If you do not meet this criterion, your membership and insurance will be invalid.

The membership for field sports employees is offered at our concessionary rate, which reflects the standard rate for individuals in this category. If you are making an insurance claim, you will be required to provide appropriate evidence of your eligibility.

Please note that you may be asked at any time to provide proof of your employment as a field sports employee to maintain the validity of your membership and insurance.
Concessionary Membership (Under 25 & 75+)

Your eligibility for this membership category depends on you meeting the requisite age requirements. If this is not the case, your membership and insurance will not be valid. To be eligible, you must be under 25 years old or over the age of 75 at the time of application. A valid date of birth be required at application. Membership becomes active once the application is received, and payment is successfully processed. If the member is under the age of 18 and cannot be held legally liable for their actions, the liability will pass to their Parent or Guardian.

Joint Memberships

Your eligibility for this membership category depends on both members living at the same address. If this is not the case, your membership and insurance will not be valid.

Family Memberships

Your eligibility for this membership category depends on all members living at the same address. If this is not the case, your membership and insurance will not be valid. Children must be under the age of 18 at the time of joining. When a child turns 18, they will be covered under the family membership until the date of the next renewal. Any children aged 18 at the time of renewal will no longer be covered by a family membership and should apply for a single concessionary (under 21) membership.

Group Membership

Group Membership: Where you give us information on behalf of someone else, you confirm that you have provided them with the information set out in these terms and conditions and that they have not objected to such use of their personal information.
Group Lead Authority:

    • The group lead is the sole authority responsible for updating group membership.
    • Members must contact their group lead for any membership changes.

Information Provision:

  • If you provide information on behalf of someone else, you must ensure that:
  • You have informed them of the terms and conditions.
  • They have not objected to the use of their personal information as described in these terms and conditions.
Member Benefits

Your Countryside Alliance Foundation membership will provide you with a variety of member benefits. You can keep up to date with the benefits currently on offer by checking our website regularly.

We reserve the right to change or withdraw these member benefits at any time. Member benefits may be subject to an external provider's terms and conditions; we do not accept liability for any loss or damage suffered as a result of any faults, errors, or omissions in the provision of these goods or services.

In order for us to deliver your Countryside Alliance Foundation magazine, we must have a valid address or email address. Please make sure you keep us updated with any changes to your contact details.

Cancellation of Membership

You may cancel your membership by writing to us, by phone, or by email. If you wish to cancel your membership within 14 days of the date of purchase, provided you have not taken advantage of any member benefits or claimed on the insurance included with your membership, you will receive a full refund of the membership premium.

If you wish to cancel after 14 days of the date of purchase, cancellation will take effect at the date of contacting to cancel your membership. Please note that your insurance will be cancelled at the same time as your membership.

The Countryside Alliance Foundation may cancel your Membership if your Membership premium or other related charge is overdue, or at any time by giving at least 14 days' notice: cancellation will take effect at the next payment date following the end of this notice period, and no refund of premium will be due to the Member.

Auto Renewal

If your Membership is paid by Direct Debit or other recurring payment method (including recurring card payments), your Membership will automatically renew. Any changes to these Terms and Conditions will take effect at renewal.

If a Member does not want to renew on this basis, they should notify the Countryside Alliance Foundation at least 7 days prior to renewal.

Changes to Terms and Conditions

The Countryside Alliance Foundation is entitled to change the Terms and Conditions at any time, provided we have given you reasonable notice of these changes. Changes will take effect at the next payment date unless you are notified otherwise. Please contact the Membership Team on 020 7840 9300.

Changes to your Personal Details
Please ensure that you notify the Countryside Alliance Foundation of any changes to your name, address, or email address immediately. Please note that if you pay by Direct Debit and your account details change, your bank may be approached for updated details to help continue to provide the services you have requested.
Use of your Personal Information

The Countryside Alliance Foundation recognises that your privacy is important and is committed to protecting it. We will always use every reasonable effort to ensure sufficient protections are in place to safeguard your personal information.

By becoming a member of the Countryside Alliance Foundation and providing us with your personal information, you agree to the storage and use of your personal information by us in accordance with this Privacy Policy. In addition to providing our services and products, we may also use your information for market research purposes and credit control purposes. We will also use this information to notify you about our services, products, and events which we believe may be of interest to you. If you do not wish to receive such information from us you can do so by opting out of communications or by writing to us.

The Countryside Alliance Foundation has partnered with ESco to manage its membership services, including data processing, payment handling, and customer service. ESco, a recognised BACS bureau, is responsible for ensuring that all membership transactions are securely processed and that members receive efficient support. By outsourcing these functions to ESco, Countryside Alliance Foundation aims to enhance the reliability and effectiveness of its membership services, ensuring compliance with all relevant data protection and financial regulations. Members can be assured that their information and transactions are handled with the utmost care and professionalism. Additionally, please note that calls may be monitored for training and quality purposes (including phone conversations and emails) for quality assurance and compliance reasons. We may also check your details with fraud prevention agencies. If you provide false or inaccurate information and we suspect fraud, this will be recorded. We may share your personal information with other companies in our group for any of the above purposes and with those with whom we are jointly producing a product, service, or event. In order to provide our services to you, we may be required to pass your personal information to parties located outside of the European Economic Area in countries which do not have data protection laws equivalent to those in the UK.

Where this is the case, we will take reasonable steps to ensure the privacy of your information. Except in the situations listed above or as required by law or other regulation, we will not pass, disclose, rent, or sell your personal information (other than any personal information which is already publicly available and which is incorporated into our search products) to any third party without your prior consent.

We have a Data Protection Policy and strict internal procedures designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, improper use, alteration, unintended destruction, or other loss. You have the right, by written request, to a copy of any personal data (as defined in the Data Protection Act 2018) which we hold about you.

Gift Aid
As a registered charity, the Countryside Alliance Foundation can claim Gift Aid on your membership subscriptions and donations, provided you are a UK taxpayer. Gift Aid increases the value of your donations by 25% at no extra cost to you. By ticking the Gift Aid box, you confirm that you are a UK taxpayer and understand that if you pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year, it is your responsibility to pay any difference.
Enforcement of Terms and Conditions

Failure to enforce or non-reliance on any of these Terms and Conditions by the Countryside Alliance Foundation will not prevent the Countryside Alliance Foundation from subsequently relying on or enforcing them.
