Former chief executive of the Countryside Alliance Simon Hart MP is returning to the leadership of the organisation, as its chairman.
Mr Hart served at the top of the Alliance from 2003, standing down after being elected for Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire in 2010, but remaining as a board member. He took over as chairman at the annual meeting on 15 September.
Outgoing interim chairman Lord Mancroft said "I am delighted that Simon Hart has agreed to take over as chairman of the Alliance, and is continuing his long association with the organisation."
Simon Hart said "I am looking forward to taking over this role and am very grateful for the work of Lord Mancroft and Kate Hoey MP who have both undertaken this post with great energy over the last few years. The Alliance is an unique organisation made up of some fascinating and diverse members and I am delighted to be able to do my bit to help."
