The UK's largest ladies shooting Club - The Shotgun & Chelsea Bun Club is organising the first ever history making, record breaking National Ladies' Shooting Day on 27th June. This national day will see a series of events across the country, from Cumbria down to Sussex and everywhere in between, where ladies are encouraged to come to try their hand at clay shooting. For each lady who comes along, the Club will donate £1 towards the GB Olympic Shooting Team's training and will be raising money for The Eve Appeal, a women's cancer charity. They've also teamed up with the Sport England's #ThisGirlCan campaign and are on a mission to get as many people as possible trying out the sport.
The events are open to all ladies, (including those who have never seen a shotgun before) and include: fully qualified instructors, gun hire, 30 cartridges, 30 clays, ear and eye protection and a day to remember. For one day only the Club are holding these special events for just £35per person.
This day has been endorsed by The Duchess of Rutland, a proud Countryside Allliance member and will feature hundreds of girls across the country trying out clay pigeon shooting for the first time, or improving their skills with likeminded ladies at a variety of top shooting grounds.
The Shotgun & Chelsea Bun Club is on a pioneering mission to bring women together and get them out clay shooting. The Club is honoured to have the support of the Alliance and they are so excited about the future and this game changing day. The Club has introduced to clay shooting some five and half thousand ladies across the Country, varying in age, ability, background and experience.
Victoria Knowles-Lacks, Club founder says: ''The Club has grown phenomenally and we are seeing more ladies than ever trying clay shooting. We are delighted to have the support of the Countryside Alliance and would love to welcome CA members to National Ladies' Shooting Day events. You don't need any experience, special clothes, just book in and we'll see you there – it's guaranteed to be a day to remember!''
The Shotgun & Chelsea Bun Club was set up by clay shooting and cake-loving Victoria Knowles-Lacks in 2012 after finding it difficult to find ladies to shoot with. It is now the largest shooting organisation of its kind and welcomes ladies of all ages in to the sport. The Club holds some forty introduction to clay shooting events across the Country and has gained a loyal following.
Members have described the Club as 'life changing' and have got a new found confidence, a solid network of new friends and contacts and have a great new hobby.
