Calendar competition winner 2017

Written by Countryside Alliance | 13 July 2016

Earlier this year, we held a competition for budding photographers to win the prized spot on the front cover of the 2017 Countryside Alliance Calendar.

So many of you caught amazing wildlife moments on camera, and entered your photographs into the competition in a bid to join last year's winning entry of a Four Burrow Hound by Lisa Wood.

With over 2,000 calendars being produced each year, this really was a unique and fantastic opportunity for both professional and novice photographers to showcase their images.
We are absolutely delighted to announce that this year's winner is Ann Middlemiss from Cumbria with this stunning photograph of Crookrise Pointers on Langstone Fell, Sedbergh.

We are sure you'll agree that it's a spectacular image which will look superb on the front cover of the calendar.

Ann said: "I took the photograph last September (21st) and I was on Langstone Fell, Sedbergh. In the background are the Howgill Fells; this is all part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It's great Pointer country and I hike early every morning on the Howgill Fells with my two Pointers. The morning had been wet but suddenly the weather cleared after lunch and we decided to head off on the hike. I always take my camera with me and captured the true essence of Crookrise Pointers in their natural environment."

Thank you so much to everyone who participated in the competition, we had so many fantastic entries and it was a real challenge to pick the winner.

The 2017 Countryside Alliance Calendar will be available to purchase later this year – keep an eye on our Facebook page for further details.
