about this blogRead moreThe Countryside Alliance has featured in a major national news story, which broke last night in The Times. Read the article here.
Fieldsports News has video documented the horrific incident here.
23-year-old farmer, Eloise McDonald, woke to find dead chicks and hundreds of birds huddled together in her family run farm in Kent. She wrote on Facebook: "Some lowlife scumbag so-called 'animal lovers' let out 20,000 of my birds, cut all the fencing, cut gas pipes, hundreds of week-old birds dead gasping for water and starving!"

In response to the horrific story, Countryside Alliance Chairman Tim Bonner told The Times: "The recent attacks on game farms are typical of the animal rights extremists- violent, callous and staggeringly..they should be treated as an extremist group."

This horrendous incident, as well as others like this have reiterated the need to include animal rights extremism in the work of the Commission for Countering Extremism.
The Countryside Alliance has written to the new Home Secretary, The Rt. Hon. Priti Patel MP, to request that this is incorporated.
In an interview with the Countryside Alliance during the leadership campaign, then candidate Boris Johnson was asked:
CA: "Will you commit to implementing measures to counter animal rights extremism, including any relevant recommendations from the Government's Commission for Countering Extremism, which is due to report this summer?"
His response: "While I am committed to protecting animal welfare, I will not tolerate extremism, intimidation and abuse irrespective of the motives that drive it. I will consider any recommendations that come from the Commission."
Convicted fraudster 'Freeda Brocks' aka Jay Tiernan aka Gamal Eboe pretends to enjoy his damaging coverage
Since The Times article broke, convicted fraudster and extremist Jay Tiernan, aka Gamal Eboe, who uses multiple fake names to hide his identity responded online.
Pretending to revel in damaging coverage, Tiernan who in this instance uses the alias 'Freeda Brocks' tweeted: "Stop the Cull" guide to sabbing shoots gets a good mention" and then links to his homemade map of shoots and game farms.

This serves as a reminder that Tiernan and those like him are not driven by love of animals, but hatred of people.
