The Campaign for Shooting is at the forefront of promoting and protecting shooting in Parliament, in the media and on the ground. Challenging misinformation and bias, our objectives are clear: to secure and enhance the long-term sustainability of shooting and its associated land management practices, and to manage and reduce political risk at local, national, and devolved levels.
Our opponents are well funded, and if we are to effectively challenge the many threats that face us, the Campaign for Shooting must have the necessary resources to do so. Our share of the legal costs incurred in successfully fighting Wild Justice's Judicial Review into the release of gamebirds on and adjacent to European Protected sites last year was over £98,000, and membership subscriptions alone are insufficient to cover such costs. The money that is raised through the sale of shooting badges and shoot sweepstakes is therefore incredibly important.
The Season Badge costs £100, and all the proceeds go towards the work of the Campaign for Shooting. This includes the funding of new research into the true economic, social and environmental value of shooting, and what we fully expect to be further legal costs incurred in defending more judicial reviews against game shooting. You can help us by buying a badge and encouraging your friends to do likewise.
For those in a position to do so, shoot sweepstakes are another excellent way in which you can help raise funds for the Campaign. You can download a pdf of this year's sweepstake card, and order this year's Season Badge, here.
Both this year's Season Badge and shoot sweepstakes are being supported by Taittinger Champagne, and they will provide a bottle of champagne to all those that mange to raise £1,000 either by selling badges, or running sweepstakes, and for each £1,000 thereafter. Taittinger are also very kindly offering the Countryside Alliance an exclusive offer in its Champagnes, with some outstanding savings available through https://thefinestbubble.com/offers-countryside-alliance.
