Countrycoats2Syria

Written by Countryside Alliance | 17 November 2015

The Countryside Alliance is happy to back CountryCoats2Syria, a new initiative set up to enable the rural community to respond to the Syrian crisis, helping to save lives in Syria and the surrounding area. Working in association with the charity Syria Relief (www.syriarelief.org.uk), CountryCoats2Syria's vision is to engage agricultural and country sports communities to gather their unused coats and donate them to their local collection points. Two pilots of this scheme have been organised:
1. Sedgemoor Auction Centre (www.gth.net/sedgemoor-livestock-market) on 21st November 2015.
2. Smithfield Festival (www.eoesmithfield.co.uk), one of the country's premier livestock shows, at the East of England Showground on 26th/27th November 2015.
All visitors to these events are being encouraged to bring a coat(s) to donate.
