'Countryside in action' photography competition sponsored by Harkila – winner and runner up

We had some wonderful entries into our 'Countryside in action' photography competition sponsored by Harkila and we would just like to say a huge thank you to all those who took the time to enter. We are very pleased to announce that we have chosen our winner. A huge congratulations goes to Jeff Welch for his lovely hound photograph. Jeff has won the fantastic prize from our 2018 photo competition partner Harkila and his picture will be featuring in our upcoming issue of My Countryside Magazine.

Description: Taken at the Avon Vale Hunt Summer Horse Show, they had a Hunt display during the show with all the hounds.

Runner up

Name: Terry Grove

Description: 'The morning catch' An Osprey in a flash taking his breakfast from a managed trout farm near Rutland. The farm leaves one of the ponds open to encourage the Ospreys to feed and now combines their fish management with offering photography opportunities. The return of the ospreys is largely thanks to landowners and managers, government and voluntary conservation groups, hundreds of volunteers and ornithologist - a true example of all countryside stakeholders in action and making a difference.
