Duke of Beaufort's Hunt organise local Countryside Clean Up

Last weekend, over 100 miles of roadside were cleared of litter and rubbish, as family bubbles operating within Covid guidelines focussed on tidying up in and around 10 villages across Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.

More than 100 members and supporters from the Beaufort Hunt formed a working party to clean roadsides surrounding the villages of Badminton, Sopworth, Alderton, Brokenborough, Long Newnton, Foxley, Hawksbury, Great Somerford, Dauntsey, Rodmarton and Nettleton.

Matt Ramsden, Master of the Beaufort Hunt, said: "It was incredibly rewarding to see so many of our members supporting this initiative. We all appreciate our wonderful countryside, especially during recent months when getting outside for exercise has been so important. Helping to keep our green spaces clean and tidy is of high priority within our local community".

For the past few seasons the Countryside Alliance has been organising a national litter pick in the form of the annual Countryside Clean-up.

This year, due to the uncertainty over the Covid situation and the fact last year's event was postponed, the CA took the decision not to organise a mass event this spring. Some packs have decided to host their own litter picks again this spring which is great news. If you are taking part this year, please do let us know.
