Extremist anti-hunting group caught inadvertently pledging support for trespass in late night rant

An anti-hunting group based in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, has been caught out suggesting it supports trespass in order to carry out saboteur activity on private land.

The group, which uses Facebook to promote its activities against law abiding local hunts, posted an online rant which has since been screenshotted by the Countryside Alliance.

In a late-night post submitted on 27^th November 2019 at 22:02pm, a spokesman blurted:

"The Tories are planning to make trespass a criminal offence This is the exert from their manifesto. This will make sabbing almost impossible and must be fought. Please share this information"

It goes on to outline a proposed Conservative Party policy, aimed at tackling unauthorised traveller camps and to make intentional trespass a criminal offence by giving councils greater powers.

Among the handful of comments left in response was one "Robert Jones" that said: "About Time", in response to the policy.

Hunt saboteurs often film themselves blatantly committing trespass when targeting law abiding people, an issue the Countryside Alliance has raised as point of major concern for rural people.

Ed Rowlandson of the Countryside Alliance said: "Most people would find it incredibly odd that a policy which aims to crack down on illegal trespass, could be viewed as a negative development. Making intentional trespass a criminal offence is something law abiding members of society will agree with".
