The Fishing for Schools Yorkshire and Derbyshire team had a great weekend at Chatsworth Country Fair (31 August - 2 September) drumming up lots of interest in the group and angling in general.
For the past two years the team has been responsible for the fishing village at the event and this year the new and improved angling area attracted a plethora of experts and fishing businesses to boost the event.
Attractions included Angling Direct's carp king Hassan Khan, our very own trout master Charles Jardine and roll cast expert Christopher Rownes as well as commercial fishery ace Nick Speed.
Youngsters learned all about the creatures lurking in the River Derwent with F4S's Lee Hooper and learned to tie a fly with Ben Fox; and there were have-a-go fly and coarse fishing sessions with the Game Angling Instructors Association and Orvis and Dynamite Baits.
But possibly most importantly we met teachers, parents and pupils of schools interested in taking part in future Fishing for Schools courses.
As this was Charles Jardine's final Chatsworth Country Fair he was presented with a piece of artwork by the Derbyshire and Yorkshire F4S team.
