The Countryside Alliance is pleased to announce that Polly Portwin will be heading its hunting campaign to enhance its campaigning and educational work.
Polly joins the Countryside Alliance from Horse & Hound magazine, where she has until recently been Hunting Editor. She was previously Master of the Bicester Hunt with Whaddon Chase for 11 seasons. The head of hunting role is a new one and will involve liaising with hunts themselves, with politicians and the media in promoting hunting and wildlife management to as wide an audience as possible.
Countryside Alliance Chief Executive Tim Bonner commented:
"We are extremely pleased to welcome Polly to the Countryside Alliance. She has long been involved in hunt campaigning and journalism, as well as having wide experience of the hunting field itself, making her ideal for this crucial role. Polly's understanding of the hunting world, her contacts and also her warmth and good humour will make her a valuable asset."
Polly Portwin commented:
"I am delighted to be given this opportunity to help promote hunting by working with those within the hunting fraternity and beyond. The Countryside Alliance has worked tirelessly on behalf of hunting and I look forward to continuing their efforts."
