Job opportunity - press officer at the Countryside Alliance – 6 month contract

The Countryside Alliance is the highest profile rural campaigning organisation in the UK, representing its 100,000 members in parliament, in the media and on the ground. As the voice of the countryside we campaign on issues as diverse as hunting and shooting, rural broadband provision, rural crime and food & farming.

We are seeking a press officer on a six-month short term contract, to begin as soon as possible to support a small team during a busy phase. The successful candidate will join the Politics, Media and Campaigns team (PMC) based in our offices in Vauxhall, London. The role will involve frontline communications with national and local media, handling our broad range of issues. Strong written and communication skills are a prerequisite and some experience of working with the media, while desirable, is not necessarily essential. With a good nose for a story and its relevance, the successful candidate will also write extensively for the Countryside Alliance's numerous communications channels. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in the countryside, the media and politics. Above all we are seeking a hard working person who is able to work well as part of a team and able to work well under pressure.
