Hounds and Hound Showing, a new booklet from the Countryside Alliance, has been produced to accompany the hound shows that run throughout the summer months.
It is a helpful guide for members of the public who are interested in learning about the different types of hounds and what the judges are looking for during the showing process – whether at their local hunt's puppy show or further afield.
The free document includes illustrations of foxhound and beagle conformation as well as an explanation of the different hound types.
Henrietta Rutgers, who produced the booklet, said: "We handed the first booklets out at the South of England Show (5-7 June) where they proved very popular with the general public and hunts alike.
"The Countryside Alliance will be present at all of the major hound shows throughout the country this summer and if you are interested in further copies for your event please contact us."
Hunts wanting free copies should email [email protected] or telephone 0207 840 9236.
