London Wine Auction Dinner raises more than £250,000 for the Countryside Alliance

Another record-breaking London Wine Auction Dinner was held at the Victoria and Albert Museum on 6 October 2015, raising more than £250,000 for the Countryside Alliance.

Stars and socialites sat down to a dinner of fine British fare, hosted by by Johannes Huth of KKR (Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co partners).

Tables sold out months in advance of this year's event, which returned to the Raphael Gallery of the Victoria and Albert Museum to celebrate its 20th anniversary.

The diners were entertained by anecdotes of the cricket and shooting field by former English team cricketer David Gower, before auctioneer Duncan McEuen took over.

Top lots of the night were a day for nine guns at the Haddeo Shoot in Devon plus accommodation, which raised £25,000 and the unique experience of a morning's duck shooting in the Venetian Lagoon, which went for £16,000. The top bidding table was that hosted by hedge fund manager Pierre Lagrange.

Organiser Milly Browne, said: "It was another wonderful, record-breaking night, with a relaxed atmosphere in the fantastic surroundings of the V&A. Very many thanks to all those who supported us and our sponsors, without whom this event could not happen."

The auction was kindly sponsored by Roxtons Field Sports and other sponsors included Pol Roger, Fortnum & Mason, Blenheim Water, Chalkstream Foods and Vicars Game.
