Despite snow falling out of town and the impending Thanksgiving holiday, the North American Chapter of the Countryside Alliance turn out in force for the 26th annual sporting auction at the prestigious Racquet and Tennis Club on Park Avenue on Monday evening (22nd November).
Hugh Hildesley of Sotheby's led a fast and furious auction which achieved nearly $200,000. The annual New York auction features some outstanding shooting lots from Northumberland to Wales and some very special travel destinations.

Emma Mancroft of the Countryside Alliance said "It was a really wonderful evening. Our North American members and supporters turned out in force and as always were incredibly generous. The bad weather meant that many members could not make it into town, however they made sure we had plenty of sealed and telephone bids to raise an impressive total on the night".
