Members of the North Cotswold Hunt joined their local community in Broadway, Worcs, on Saturday, 6th May 2023, to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III.
At the kind request of Broadway Parish Council, representatives from the North Cotswold Hunt joined their local community in Broadway, Worcs, on Saturday, 6th May 2023, to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III.
Hounds and hunt staff plus members of the North Cotswold Hunt Pony Club took part in a meet and greet with the public after the council invited the hunt to kick-off Broadway’s coronation celebrations. The hounds and horses congregated outside the Lygon Arms Hotel on the High Street where crowds gathered to welcome the hunt.
“Despite the damp, everybody was in great spirits and the local children loved being able to interact with the hounds”, said Oliver Dale, joint-master and huntsman of the North Cotswold Hunt.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Parish Council for their invitation to be part of this very special day in the village where the hunt is based.”
Polly Portwin, Director of the Campaign for Hunting at the Countryside Alliance explained: “Hunts across the country form an integral part of their local rural communities and a number were involved in local events throughout this weekend of national celebration. Hunts are always at their happiest when the local community is able to meet and speak with the dedicated staff and other hunt representatives which take considerable pride in being able to showcase their hounds to new audiences.”
