The Countryside Alliance has welcomed today's publication of OFCOM research into 4G and 3G mobile broadband speeds and has urged OFCOM to release similar figures for rural speeds.
Countryside Alliance head of policy Sarah Lee said: "It is important that consumers can make informed choices on which operator will provide them with the best service. A transparent market will not only ensure operators are more competitive, but will hopefully ensure better coverage across the UK.
"However these figures only measure the speed of smartphone broadband in five big cities across the UK. We look forward to the research including rural areas to ensure those who live and work in the countryside can also have access to information on which operator will best meet their needs."
