For the first time we can recall there is a petition set up for salmon anglers to unite and register their concerns about the decision to throw out the window a salmon conservation measure which has been observed for many years. The purpose is to petition Richard Lochhead and the Scottish Government: To reverse the decision by the Salmon Net Fishing Association of Scotland [SNFAS] to resume net fishing in the spring after a 14 year voluntary cessation. The petition can be accessed here http://chn.ge/1bS2Fhn
So far there are over 14,700 signatures to the online petition which takes virtually seconds to fill in.
Ultimately the debate is about the longevity of around 3000 Scottish Jobs and a wonderful industry worth more than £100 million to the Scottish Economy.
Please sign this petition and ask you to please ask 5 non fishing friends to sign this and for them to pass it on too.
