With our most successful year to date, the Rural Oscars are taking the countryside by storm. The awards have had over 18,000 nominations and we have seen an outstanding amount of press coverage for the regional finalists. The Countryside Alliance Awards have also received attention on social media, with all of the happy finalists sharing their news and thanking their loyal customers by using the hashtage #RuralOscars.
With 20 finalists in Yorkshire alone, the Yorkshire Post celebrated the brilliant news in a well shared recent article, featuring co-owner of The Marton Arms in Thornton-in-Lonsdale who is delighted with their nomination. Two Suffolk Butchers are battling for the Butchers award and the East Anglian Times covered the race to the top in their latest piece. Other regional newspapers have given the awards huge amounts of exposure with stories both online and in newspapers from The Westmorland Gazette, Worcester News, Northamptonshire Telegraph, Lancaster and Morecambe Citizen and many others.
Local MP's have been getting involved too, by visiting their local finalists and through tweeting local rural businesses congratulating them on their nominations.
Thank you for all of the wonderful coverage and congratulations to all of the regional finalists. Judging will commence in the upcoming weeks and we wish all of the rural businesses good luck!
