The secretary of the Savills Countryside Alliance Point-to-Point, Jane Stockdale, is the latest recipient of the Countryside Alliance's service award – The Goodson-Wickes Trophy.
The attractive bronze award was handed over to Mrs Stockdale at the point-to-point at Badbury Rings, Dorset yesterday (25 February) by Countryside Alliance chief executive Tim Bonner, in recognition of 10 years of running the annual event.
Tim said: "Every year we award this trophy to the person who has done most to support the Alliance and we are very pleased to announce Jane as the 2018 recipient. As the hardworking secretary of the Countryside Alliance point-to-point for 10 years she has been at every committee meeting and has had a huge input behind the scenes. She has also been a great supporter of other CA activities across Dorset."
Jane Stockdale said: "Receiving the Goodson-Wickes trophy was a complete surprise, but it is an award for us all. I have a fantastic committee and the point-to-point is a real team effort and great fun because of that. I used to be in the Royal Signals so I think I might have brought a bit of that Army organisation to the role!"
The Goodson-Wickes Award is so named as its first recipient was the first chairman of the Countryside Alliance – Dr Charles Goodson-Wickes in 1999.
