The National Assembly for Wales' Environment and Sustainability Committee has completed and presented its inquiry in to Tourism in Wales and has seen all 28 of its recommendations accepted by the Deputy Minister For Culture Sport and Tourism, Ken Skates. The Countryside Alliance was part of the evidence-collecting process and the importance of shooting and angling to the tourism economy in Wales was represented solely by the Countryside Alliance. To supplement the inquiry, Suzy Davies, AM for South West Wales (Shadow Minister for Welsh Language, Culture and Tourism for the Welsh Conservatives), has now launched an online survey. Supporters can take part to make the voice of rural enterprise heard. The survey can be found here
We are your voice at the Assembly for direct consultations and inquiries on your chosen sport and equally as important, for the non-direct inquiries such as this one. We also highlighted the need for an improvement in mobile phone signal, broadband coverage and better road signage which we firmly believe would increase visitor numbers from all over the world. Support for our Countryside Alliance Awards competitors also played an important factor in our evidence session in North Wales when we put forward the notion of being able to sell Wales through its fantastic food and drink sector, from producers to holiday accommodation.
