TV presenter and farmer Adam Henson was the guest of honour at an event at the Kent Showground on 21 November, which raised £6,000 for the Countryside Alliance Foundation and the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI).
Michelle Nudds, regional director for The Countryside Alliance Foundation, said: "It was great to hear Adam talk about the work his Cotswold Farm Park does with outdoor learning for schools and colleges.
"We all agree that it is so important to get outdoor education into schools and colleges which then promotes the valuable learning opportunities the countryside can offer young people."
And RABI's regional manager Sally Field said: "Adam is a terrific and entertaining speaker who spoke about farming and countryside issues in a way that everyone could understand, we are grateful to him for coming to talk to us.
"Thank you also to all those who supported the event, the Kent Event Centre and the many businesses who sponsored the evening and gave auction and raffle prizes."
The money raised will be split between the Countryside Alliance's education projects, which include Fishing 4 Schools and Casting for Recovery and Falconry for Schools, and RABI's support to members of the farming community who are in need.
