Global giant Shakespeare Fishing and the acknowledged Angling education leaders Fishing for Schools (F4S), have joined forces with their respective talents and passions, to bring angling to future generations.
Not only does this partnership offer young anglers a real sense of belonging to ever growing "family" of committed fishers, but also offers exciting opportunities to learn through various media platforms and gain practical help through F4S's cohort of experienced and supremely skilled coaches.
Dave McCartney – European Brand Marketing Manager of Shakespeare Fishing - said:
"I have been looking for the right grass roots initiative to support for several years. Fishing for Schools caught my attention and the more I learned about the charity, the more I wanted our brand to support it with resource, product, and any other assistance that the charity would like from us. Shakespeare is the go-to grass roots brand, and has the right product to help deliver the fantastic sessions that F4S delivers. We are looking forward to working together with the charity and firmly believe that grass roots is our future and is at the core of the Shakespeare brand ethos."
Fishing for School's founder and director Charles Jardine said of the announcement:
"To have a global brand like Shakespeare acknowledge Fishing for Schools is an incredible testament to how far we have come as an initiative. The partnership between us is both exciting and progressive, and paves the way forward for a bright new future for both of us. I am truly excited about the prospect of working with Shakespeare and beginning the adventure. Who knows where it will end? One thing is certain, young anglers will benefit now and way into the future and that must be healthy for our sport."
Matt Hayes - Arguably the UK's best-known angler and Shakespeare Ambassador - said:
"F4S is a bold, ambitious project that offers many young people a gateway to the natural world. It also delivers a whole host of benefits in terms of mental and physical health. Angling is a gift for life and thanks to Fishing for Schools and Shakespeare, the angling community is reaching out to youngsters everywhere and offering them a chance to fish, regardless of location, age, ability, or disability. I am so proud to be a part of it!"
Zenia Drury-Gregorik - Shakespeare Ambassador extraordinaire – and super fishing mum said:
"As an Ambassador of Shakespeare Fishing and F4S I am absolutely delighted that Shakespeare are going to support such an inspirational organisation that helps kids into the magical world that is fishing. Being a mum of two boys myself, I see the benefits that fishing brings to kids for their well-being and mindfulness so to see the ongoing work that F4S does to help kids to diverse into fishing and gain the endless benefits is simply fantastic. I can't wait to see what the future holds in working with them. With the new starter kits that Shakespeare are launching, there is going to be a lot of kids with smiles on their faces and memories to be made! This is a great step forward for fishing with the next generation, less computer consoles and more fishing poles!"
