On 16th June the Western Morning News published an editorial backing our bid to become a charity. In "Charitable status makes sense for pro-hunt Countryside Alliance" the newspaper argues: ".... if the League Against Cruel Sports and the now overtly politicised RSPCA can have charitable status, with all the tax and fund-raising advantages it brings, why not the Countryside Alliance? The Western Morning News has praised the organisation in the past for standing up for the rural minority who often find themselves misunderstood by politicians and, as a result, discriminated against. The hunt ban was – and remains – bad law; the countryside is often neglected by politicians and the Alliance has done much to give rural folk, particularly those in the field of country sports, a voice."
