Whitehill Shoot to host Young Guns Day in support of Countryside Alliance

Having worked together to combat illegal animal rights activity, Whitehill Shoot and the Countryside Alliance are coming together to host a Young Guns Day.

Young people just getting started in game shooting will be coached by experienced mentors including international competitive shooters. Turner Game, a local game dealer, will be on hand cooking game in the field, helping to teach the next generation that the importance of game as high welfare, healthy food. There will be a visit available to Turner Game's new processing plant at the end of the day, underlining the event's theme of shoot it, prep it, cook it, eat it.

Proceeds from the day will go to the Countryside Alliance, but that's not the focus of the day, which will all be about giving young people the best possible introduction to game shooting. Syndicate Captains Colin Hemmings and Julian Tuck said: "We believe it's really important that we all play our part in helping to encourage and educate youngsters into our sport and to help secure the benefits of shooting for the future."

Countryside Alliance Head of Shooting Liam Stokes said: "Whitehill Shoot was targeted by animal rights extremists despite being committed to conservation, youth development and the highest standards of shoot management. We think its brilliant that despite the attack they are still wanting to continue their efforts to engage and educate young people. We really hope the shooting community will get behind them."
