The Countryside Alliance is proud to announce the winner of the annual Countryside Alliance William Evans Gun Draw, Lord Howard of Rising.

The Countryside Alliance has announced the winner of the William Evans gun draw. Lord Howard is now the proud owner of a pair of William Evans Connaught Premiums worth £23,000.

William Evans is one of the leading remaining independent gun-makers in the country. Based in St James's Street, London, the firm was established over 130 years ago and manufactures and supplies high quality guns and rifles.

The tickets were £25 each and all 2,500 tickets were sold.

The draw took place on Wednesday 1 March 2017 at 9:51AM and was broadcast on Facebook Live.

Countryside Alliance would like to thank everyone that entered the draw. All funds raised will go to the Countryside Alliance Campaign for Shooting. The Campaign for Shooting protects the right to shoot and gives a clear political and public vote to shooting. Last year alone, because of donations, including profits from the gun draw, we were able to do the following:

  • Close the Lead Ammunition Group, which threatened a ban on lead ammunition.

  • Lead the defense of grouse shooting and turn a parliamentary debate about banning grouse shooting into an opportunity to promote the value of shooting in the uplands.

  • Publicly expose misinformation being shared by BBC presenters and animal rights organisations seeking to restrict your right to shoot.

  • Grow the game market through our Game to Eat campaign and helping to boost the value of the game meat market above £100 million for the first time.

This year will undoubtedly see more campaigns not only against grouse shooting, but also on issues like game farming, the use of lead ammunition and removing species from the quarry list. Donations to the Campaign for Shooting play a vital part in allowing us to keep monitoring and protecting the shooting community.

If you missed out on this years gun draw you still have the opportunity to take part in our highly exclusive Beretta Draw
